Today we left London to begin out travels towards Birmingham. After congratulating ourselves on negotiating the Underground faultlessly to find Euston train station we were somewhat perplexed by the lack of car hire facilitites. Eventually it was located in a bay of the carpark and we set off for Wellesbourne. Thanks to our hosts clear directions we found our B and B without any trouble.
The afternoonwas spent in Stratford-on-Avon. The sun was shining, alight breez was blowing and a brass band began playing as we parked the car. as has happened so often lately, the sun was soon gone. Our walking tour was hampered by rain but we persisted with our sightseeing in this hitoric and picturesque town until every business and stall holder shut up shop promptly at 5pm. We did return later in the evening for some fine dining (all the cheap eateries were full!) The forecast indicates fine weather to come, and while the relief from the heat of the earlier week sis welcome we look forward to packing away the umbrellas and rain jackets.
