City To City - Day 11

Its always hard when the alarm wakes you from a deep sleep. Its even harder after only 4 hours and its 3.20am. But today we had an early plane to catch to Brussels, so by 4am we were on the coach and off to Prague airport. Check in was tedious and eventually we were away for our flight of just over an hour - most of us dozing the whole way. With all the increased security at Brussels Airport it took 90 min to exit the building - longer than the flight itself. But at the end we found our new coach drivers for this leg of the tour and ventured out into the drizzle. The drive to Bruges was quiet as most dozed again, and after a 2 hour trip we arrived and were checked into the hotel for a quick lunch before a walking tour of this beautiful city. There is a distinct style to the buildings here which adds to the charm, with waterways, swans and cobblestone roads. The evening was free so we enjoyed a magnificent meal with the Hazeldens, Colin and I sampling many of the Belgian beers. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing end to a busy day, and tomorrow will be coach free which will be another welcome change of pace.
