Cousins - Day 15
We left Bruges and as Bullecourt had not responded to our messages to confirm our visit we instead headed into Lille for a couple of hours to explore the town we had been near for the past two days. Then at lunchtime we began the trip south to Paris, passing through farmland and gradually into the more populated areas. Because Euro 2016 soccer tournament is in town accommodation for a group of over 50 had been impossible to find, so we were staying at the hotel not far from CDG airport - convenient for departure but a fair way out of the city itself.
Tara had arrived in Paris the day before, so immediately after checking in Carmel & I caught a taxi into Paris to Tara's hotel, grabbed her luggage and then with her we caught the metro south and then walked to the flat where Carmel's cousin Caroline lived in the suburb of Vanves. It was lovely to catch up with Caroline again after first meeting her in WA some years ago. We had some canapes and drinks together before Tara left us and we remaining three walked to a nearby restaurant for an enjoyable dinner together then back to the apartment for a cup of tea. Carmel & I then wrestled Tara's luggage through the metro stations and then catching a train to the airport then taxi home. We arrived back at the hotel around midnight, but had had a wonderful time catching up with family
