A sleep in was welcome, with the day ahead based in Bruges with no travel at all.The sunny days of Italy had disappeared, with heavy cloud and occasional rain the outlook for the day. After a leisurely breakfast Carmel and Vicki set off on a bike ride for the morning, while the men had an hour to kill before walking down to the Cathedral of San Salvadore, the venue of our concert for the afternoon. Although under renovation, part of the cathedral is still open and it was this space we had available. After treating tourists to impromptu performances as they wandered in and out of the rehearsal, we adjourned for lunch. The bike exploration over - seeing parts of the city we didn't get to on foot with windmills and other sights - we all walked again to the Cathedral. The concert went well, and we spent some time afterwards doing some shopping - home made Marzipan, Belgian Lace, and some T shirts. Dinner was communal at a nearby restaurant, then some of us hurried off to watch the Europe Soccer game for the night. One of our younger choir members is welsh, and wit wales playing Belgium interest was high. With Wales winning 3-1 we all shared in the celebrations with a few more
Belgian beers downed. Then off to bed ahead of an early start tomorrow
back on the coach.
