Borne This Way (06/06/11)
Well our trusty Emirates 777 has got us safely to Dubai - after a 10 hour flight that was smooth and uneventful. No rough spots, food and drink both every good, and I even slept for about 7 hours of the flight. So now we are waiting in that necessary evil, the transit lounge. Much as I hate sitting around doing nothing for four hours while waiting for the next flight, on the plus side at least it gets you out of the cramped confines of the plane and lets you stretch your legs a bit. Those of you who have travelled will be aware that Dubair airport is about the size of Bunbury, and the terminal the size of Bunbury CBD. So plenty of space to explore - possible even to have a shower and freshen up. The WiFi availability means I can catch up on the importants news - who won the French Open; who won Masterchef last night - as we wile away the hours. Next leg is only 5 hours to Athens, then hopefully to our Hotel and time for a brief explore of the city centre before dinner and bed. Next post should be from our destination !
