Wide Open Road - Day 9

All this moving from country to country inevitably means that somewhere you end up spending almost full day on the coach, and today was that day. We left Salzburg at 9 am and drove west with a convenience stop about 10.20 in Linze; then across the border into the Czech Republic for the first time. From there we motored in to Cesky Krumlov for lunch - a very pretty city that Gabi who works with us in Bunbury had recommended. We had a nice lunch with a couple of wines, with the only problem being the long time to get the food to our table. In the end our departure was delayed 30 minutes because of the slow service ; but the food was good, the drinks fine  and both incredibly cheap. From there it was almost another three hours into Prague, where we were relieved to find our hotel was modern, roomy, cool and very comfortable. We split into groups for an independent night with no organised meal, so our group of seven ventured a km away to a local pub for some traditional Czech fare together with the local beer and wines. A glass of wine back at the hotel rounded off a nice evening, with a busy day ahead tomorrow ...
