Can You Feel The Love Tonight - Day 8

After the adventures of the previous night we were up a little later than normal - just in time to get a quick breakfast and then meet for the walking tour of Salzburg. Even though we explored the city fairly well last trip there was still a lot of information on the walk as well as a good slant on city life. Any trip to Salzburg will involve Mozart at some stage, and we spent time in the home where he was born that is now a Mozart museum. The other thing hard to avoid is references to The Sound of Music, and we finished the tour at the Mirabella Gardens where scenes from the movie were set. Lunch was casual back in the old city, then a quiet cup of tea and cake in a cafe along the cobblestoned lanes.
We departed at 3.00pm for Strobl, the destination for our Austrian Concert. It is another picturesque town on the edge of a large lake, and we were to perform in the local church. The ladies shopped while we rehearsed, then we all were back in the coach for a quick trip up a nearby hill to the restaurant at the local wildlife park. It was a very nice meal but there was little time to appreciate the venue or surrounds as once finished we were back to the church to perform. The church was full, the crowd was appreciative and enthusiastic and the choir was in great form. We received a standing ovation at the end and were very touched by the reception we received.
Tomorrow we are off again - next stop Prague !
